  • My point exactly. The "rights and benefits associated with marriage" are not the real interest to the movement -- were that the case they would have acted in such a way as to ensure them years ago, and most definitely would have succeeded.

  • Marriage is a state issue. It's right there in the text of the constitution, whether you'd call that neocon or whatever. I don't think it should be a platform, poll-boosting issue for either side.

  • Chiming in to agree -- all powers not expressly granted to the federal government revert to the states, under the notion that members of a given locale should decide their own laws through their state reps.

  • I don't begin to see how they could use a "confederate belt" to diminish her 1st Ammendment expression, which is obviously -- were it not for their unwarranted shock -- not a "substantial" disturbance to the education of others.

  • To spotlight #15 on the trade paperbacks, THE FAIR TAX BOOK is a worthy (albiet brief) read. Why are there such discrepancies in these lists? Does anyone know how these are tracked/analyzed? I would presume its all second-hand data from some research firm.
